Homecoming is a celebration of past memories and new beginning. The fellowship of friends and families both old and new and the reuniting of folks to come back and restore their fellowship with the Lord. As we prepare to celebrate Homecoming on Sunday, October 30 at Oakland, please invite and bring someone you haven’t seen in a while. Invite them to return and come “home” and celebrate Homecoming and a new beginning.
Following the worship service, we will enjoy a time of food and fellowship as a church family. Bring a covered dish and we’ll see you there. For further information contact the church office at (919) 934-5476.

Harbor House Toiletry Drive
From September 4 – September 25, we will be collecting small toiletry items for Harbor House to create Emergency Care Bags during the Stop Hunger Now Event on September 28. A collection table will be setup in the Fellowship Hall. Travel size items of shampoo, conditioner, body wash/soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, feminine hygiene products, deodorant, Q-tips, lotion, razors, tweezers, fingernail clippers, nail polish, polish remover, cleansing crème, along with children’s toothbrushes, toothpaste and shampoo.
Our 3rd annual event will be September 28th, so SAVE the DATE and plan to come party. YOU get to serve meals to starving people. “ For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, …whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ (Mat 25)
Every year since 1998 Stop Hunger Now has used hands-on volunteers to provide millions of nutritious meals and other life-saving aid to children and families all over the world. Come and be part of this success story in our mission to end hunger. We will pack at least TEN THOUSAND nutritious meals. If any individuals or groups choose to donate a $5 or 10 or 20, we can pack more, up to FIFTEEN THOUSAND meals. We will be inviting some outside groups to participate, like Scouts, as we did for the first event, but we’ll have a few other mission packing jobs to do, so there will be plenty to keep everyone happy and busy. SEE YOU THERE!
