Still, commitment to the church, through our regular giving, is vital to the work of the church. Presenting God with his tithe and your offerings supports our youth and children’s ministries, Scouts, mission trips, local mission partnerships, evangelism, outreach, worship, fellowship, facilities costs, staff salaries, and more. For our joy, God calls each of us to return to Him from our first fruits a portion of the many blessings He gives to us…not the dollars that are left over after we spend for ourselves.
There are three ways to give God his tithe and your offerings at Oakland:
For many of us, money can be a source of much confusion, stress, and even pain; but when we plan and practice generosity it becomes a joyful, life-giving act of worship. This is because in Jesus words, "Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." Our hearts have a strange tendency to follow our budget. Jesus doesn't need your money, he wants your heart, but he knows the two are connected.
