Open Opportunities

Coordinator of Discipleship and Missions

Hospitality & Outreach

To invite people in our community to participate in worship or other ministries. To welcome people when they visit our church. To help new members become assimilated into the life of the congregation, using their gifts and talents to the glory of God and the enriching of our church family. Communicate who we are at Oakland and our various activities/ministries with the community.

Discipleship

To nurture the spiritual growth of our church family by promoting and providing opportunities for study and faith development for all ages.

Worship Team

To lead the congregation’s response to the grace of God through worship. This team is responsible for the space where worship is conducted, arrangements and furnishings of the sanctuary, the use of flowers, banners, paraments and objects of art, the oversight of music, the celebration of the sacraments and pulpit supply as needed.

Mission

To guide the congregation’s ministries of service and assistance to members and neighbors. Promotion of denominational and traditional offerings. Support for local, national and international witness of the church especially during times of disaster. Encourage peacemaking, ecumenical ministries, scouting and sharing of our resources with those in need.

Congregational Care

To provide for the care of individuals and families and to offer opportunities for fellowship.

Finance

To encourage the faithful, biblical stewardship among the congregation, to provide financial support of Oakland’s ministries, to exercise faithful management of the church’s funds and accounts and to oversee the purchase of office equipment and supplies. To assemble an annual budget and monitor the status of the budget, funds, and accounts. To provide an annual financial report and audit.
